Juvéderm Volift is a next generation dermal filler, developed using proprietary Vycross technology, which employs a combination of low and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid to enhance the effectiveness of cross-linking between hyaluronic acid chains, resulting in an ultra-smooth gel for a natural look and feel, minimal swelling and edema, and longer duration (approximately 15 months).

How Does Lip Augmentation Work?

It is a simple, fast and outpatient procedure performed in our office. While the result is long lasting, it is not a definitive procedure.

The lip filler procedure consists of a subcutaneous injection performed with a very thin needle and lasts between 5 and 30 minutes. Hyaluronic acid is a biocompatible substance, therefore, recovery is immediate and it is possible to return immediately to all normal daily activities. Juvéderm Volift contains lidocaine so the procedure is painless.

Conjutivitis. Weakness immunology. Pregnancy. Lactation. Chemotherapy. Radiation therapy. Local infection. Herpes. Skin conditions in the area of application. Bacterial, fungal or viral infections.

Contraindications total

Allergic reactions to hyaluronic acid. Skin conditions in the area of application (moles, keloid scars, angiomas, bulging, warts, melanomas, impetigo, psoriasis, urticaria, chloasma, nevus).

Do not consume anti-inflammatory drugs, ASPIRIN and derivatives (NSAIDs) or steroids.

In case of treatment with ASPIRINS, its consumption must be suspended at least 72 hours before the procedure.

AFTER THE PROCEDURE
  • Don't massage or touch the treated area and exercise within the first 48 hours. Evitar la exposición al calor, sol y vapor o sauna por 7 días, Aplicar capa de 1/2 mm de KITOSCELL cada 12 hrs. (solo para pieles acneicas), Usar protector solar factor 50+.
  • Apply vitamins every 4 hours during the first 7 days.
  • Avoid exposure to heat, sun and steam or sauna for 7 days.
  • Apply 1/2 mm layer of KITOSCELL every 12 hrs. (for acneic skin only)
  • Use sunscreen factor 50+.
  • Don't apply makeup the first 4 days after treatment.
  • In case of treatment with Aspirin or derivatives, resume after 72 hrs.
  • In case of bruising (bruising) apply ice and take arnica.
  • Take arnica to promote disinflammation.
  • Avoid alcohol-based products for the first two weeks.

IS THERE A REASON WHY I SHOULD NOT RECEIVE ANY JUVÉDERM® FORMULATION?
Do not use these products if you have a history of multiple severe allergies or severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis), or if you are allergic to lidocaine or the Gram-positive bacterial proteins used in these products.
WHAT PRECAUTIONS SHOULD MY DOCTOR ADVISE ME?
  • Minimize strenuous exercise and extensive sun or heat exposure within the first 24 hours after treatment. Exposure to any of these can cause temporary redness, swelling and / or itching at the injection site.
  • Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The safety of these products for use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding has not been studied.
  • The safety of JUVÉDERM VOLUMA ® ™ XC has not been studied in patients younger than 35 years or older than 65 years for cheek augmentation, or younger than 22 years and older 80 years for chin augmentation. The safety of JUVÉDERM VOLLURE ® ™ XC and JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA ® ™ XC has not been studied in patients younger than 22 years, and the safety of JUVÉDERM XC and JUVÉDERM Ultra XC has not been studied in patients under 18 years of age.
  • The safety and efficacy of JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC in areas other than the cheek area, JUVÉDERM XC and JUVÉDERM VOLLURE ® ® ™ XC for different areas of facial wrinkles and folds, and JUVÉDERM Ultra XC and JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA XC in areas other than the lips and perioral area have not been established in clinical studies

  • Tell your doctor if you have a history of excessive scarring (thick and hard scars) or pigmentation disorders. The safety of JUVÉDERM products has not been studied in these patients and may lead to additional scarring or changes in pigmentation ®
  • Tell your doctor if you are being treated to lower the body’s immune response (immunosuppressive therapy). Use may result in an increased risk of infection
  • Tell your doctor before treatment if you are using substances that can prolong bleeding, such as acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin), ibuprofen, or other blood thinners. As with any injection, this can result in increased bruising or bleeding at the injection site.
  • JPatients who experience skin injury near the injection site may be at increased risk of adverse events.
  • JUVÉDERM VOLUMA ® ™ XC was not studied in patients with significant loose skin of the chin, neck, or jaw.
  • The effect of JUVÉDERM VOLUMA ® ™ XC injection in the chin on facial hair growth has not been studied.
WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?
    Side effects most commonly reported with injectable gels JUVÉDERM included redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, firmness, lumps / bumps, bruises, discoloration and itching. For JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA®® ™ XC, dryness was also reported. For JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® ™ XC, most side effects resolved within 2-4 weeks. For JUVÉDERM VOLLURE® ™ XC, JUVÉDERM XC and JUVÉDERM Ultra XC Injectable Gels, most resolved within 14 days or less. For JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA®®® ™ XC, most resolved within 30 days or less. These side effects are consistent with other facial injection procedures.
    Most of the side effects will resolve in time. Your doctor may choose to treat side effects that persist for 30 days with antibiotics, steroids, or hyaluronidase (an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid).
    One of the risks of these products is unintentional injection into a glass blood. The chances of this happening are very small, but if it does, the complications can be serious and can be permanent. These complications, which have been reported for facial injections, can include vision abnormalities, blindness, movement, temporary scabs, or permanent skin scarring.
    As with all skin injection procedures, there is a risk of infection.
